A beach breakfast encounter wraps up the amazing Gospel of John. In John 21, Jesus tells Peter to “Follow Me” twice. Jesus also asked Peter “Do you love Me more than these?” Has Jesus ever asked you that question? There certainly was a time in my life when I loved what I did more than I loved Jesus. When I was fresh out of commercial art school I just wanted to be a great art director. Right about that same time God showed up in the form of a street evangelist who suggested that I follow Jesus. I began to transition from my plan to God’s plan. It took awhile and I kept asking Him “What about my incredible plans and all my great stuff and what about this extra baggage, Lord?”. He showed me it was best to leave most of it behind and follow Jesus wherever He might lead. So I did. It’s been interesting, challenging, enlightening and amazing.
