Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. ~ Jude 1:3A -KJV
Our salvation is common in the sense that it is offered to one and all but it is also most certainly very exceptional. Anyone with true membership the Christian fraternity is seated spiritually in a very high place. The grace that we partake of is outrageous in both its volume and its quality. This brings about a continual tilting of our mental faculties perhaps because it really is a divine mystery and is a bit around the bend from being totally comprehendible.
By the way, sorry to disappoint you but our commission to contend for the faith renders us naturally rather contentious. By implication Christian ‘apologetics’ are NOT always about apologizing and certainly not about making people feel comfortable. The enemy hates truth and seeks to muzzle, muffle and kill its expression. This is one way to know who is really speaking the real truth. They’ll generally be chasing him with pitchforks.
